12 January 2022 – Power Outage Update – 7:30 p.m.

At approximately 2:15 pm, an Edison power line went down near M Street and Mount Vernon causing a significant power outage in portions of central to southeastern areas of the City of Colton.   Edison lines cross over Colton power lines and when the line/pole fell it caused damage to Colton lines.  The cause of the downed line is still unknown.

Edison crews are on scene currently removing cables which are affecting the Colton lines and causing the outage.  Once that work is completed, Colton crews can begin to work on restoring power, one circuit at a time.

We do not have an estimated timeframe at this point.   Crews will be working through the night until resolution.

As updates become available, they will be posted here.
