Colton eTRAKiT an online permitting system

eTRAKiT is the online portal to the City’s permit system. This portal will allow certain users to do the following:

  • Apply for certain permits and development projects;
  • Pay fees;
  • Conduct searches;
  • View permits; and
  • schedule/monitor inspections online.

The City of Colton eTRAKiT online permitting system may include some growing pains in configuration and developing instructions, please be patient with us as we step into the future of electronic permitting.

The City of Colton business hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

City Departments/Divisions participating in the eTRAKiT include:

  • Development Services Department – Building and Planning
  • Fire Department: Community Risk Reduction Division
  • Public Works Department: Engineering, Electric and Utilities (Water and Wastewater)

eTRAKiT system allows you to apply and pay for permits.  Users of eTRAKiT may include:

  • Anonymous Users: No login is required for a general property search.
  • Public Registered Users (Owner/Builder): Log-in is required to schedule inspections and to view records in detail.
  • Contractors: Log-in is required. Your Username is your State License Number and your (first-time) Passcode is the last 4 digits of your phone number (in our records).

Consultation with a City staff member from the respective City division/department may be needed before applying for an online permit or development application.  *Many City permits will also require Planning Division or other City Department approval prior to online submission. Please consult with a City staff member as applicable prior to making an online permit submission.

At the present time, the following permits may be obtained or started for permit processing.  Each permit comes with application, plans, inspections, final sign-off, continued compliance (Planning Approvals & Environmental Mitigation), and business license registration as applicable.
